#1B. Which of Tony Wagner's "7 Survival Skills" did/does your leader excel at in their life?
    Survival Skill 2
#1C. Explain how you made the choice and include examples and evidence.
I made this choice because she does things for other people and doesn't so much make you do these things as well but
hope that if she does them, she can get others to help her out. Like the piggy bank thing she did for the kids in africa, and all the
other ways she helps raise money for those in need.
#1D. Which of Stephen Covey's "7 Habits" did/does your leader demonstrate in their life?
    Habit #1, Be Proactive.
#1E. Explain how you made the choice and include examples and evidence.
I made this choice because shes always doing positive things to help people.
She doesn't single out anyone that needs her help, and she plays an active role in everyones life.

#2A. What is the name of your inspirational leader?
    Walt Disney.
#2B. Which of Tony Wagner's "7 Survival Skills" did/does your leader excel at in their life?
    Survival Skill #7
#2C. Explain how you made the choice and include examples and evidence.

and things that he thought would portray those thoughts.
#2D. Which of Stephen Covey's "7 Habits" did/does your leader demonstrate in their life?
Habit #2. Begin with the end in mind.
#2E. Explain how you made the choice and include examples and evidence.

    he followed through with them.

#3A. What is the name of your inspirational leader?
    Lance Armstrong.
#3B. Which of Tony Wagner's "7 Survival Skills" did/does your leader excel at in their life?
    Survival Skill #2
#3C. Explain how you made the choice and include examples and evidence.
I chose survival skill number 2 because he lead others by influence. He was able to show everyone
that even after having a close encounter to death with his cancer he could get back up and continue living his life.
He also influenced people with his live strong bracelets.
#3D. Which of Stephen Covey's "7 Habits" did/does your leader demonstrate in their life?

Lance took the time to help out other people. He started a foundation to help others who were
suffering from cancer like he was. He didn't just walk away once he was cured. It sort of made him work harder.

#1. The habit I am going to be discussing is habit #4 which is Think Win - Win.
#2. The book gave me a significant impact on how I think about life. One would be that I feel that there is plenty of success for everyone. You care about other people succeeding but you also care about yourself succeeding. (pg. 152) Being a person that is not selfish in sports, by helping others succeed to win a game as in basketball. (pg. 153)
#3. What will change in my life to implement this habit is I would have to be doing things that provide good consequences for me and people I interact with. The steps that I will take to make this happen are I will treat other people as I treat myself. I will take my time to listen to what others have to say. I would try to give them advice as what I would feel that would be for their situation. Lastly, I would help people in need.
#4. A leader that demonstrates this habit successfully is mother Teresa. I feel this way because she dedicated her life to helping the lives of the most unfortunate people in the world. By doing this it gave herself inter peace and strength. She also set an example for the whole world.

    #1. Habit 1- Be Proactive
#2. Pg 54-55 We Can Control only one thing & Pg. 66 The tools of our life- self awareness, conscience, imagination, willpower
#3. I have already started working on changing myself and adjusting my life to be proactive. This habit means that there may be some things in life that you can’t control but focus on the things you can control. Be positive! I’ve applied this to my life when I get frustrated or angry at something I try to be mature and react in a calm and positive matter. It is really hard to stop myself from reacting in an easier negative way but in the end I feel a lot better about myself when I’m proactive. To be proactive I can do myself a favor and be a kind, open-minded person and improve myself as a person. My goal to someday be a psychologist helps me to be proactive because psychologists interact with many people and everyone wants to talk to a proactive person!!
#4. Taylor Swift is a leader that demonstrates this habit because being a famous leader, she probably gets a lot of setbacks but she’s a down to earth girl.

Habit # 2. Begin with the end in mind.
#2. Refer to the specific section, including page number(s), of the book that had a significant impact on how you think about life.
I think page 76. The crossroads of life had the biggest impact on me and how I think about life.
#3. Explain what in your life you will change to implement this habit and identify the steps you will take to make it happen.
I think my thoughts about the future will change. Not just my future years from now but my future hours, and days from now. I will begin to think
about where I am in life right now. Then I will think about what I want to do in the future, like actions I can take and what I really want to do in my life.
I'll be able to pursue it through out my life.
#4. Identify a leader that demonstrates this habit successfully. Give specific examples of why you feel this way.
I think Oprah demonstrates this habit successfully. She knew and still knows what she wants out of life. She knows what shes
going to do to help others and how shes going to do it successfully. She doesn't start a huge project with out any knowledge
of how shes going to end it, or what she will do with it.

    1. The habit that I am going to discuss, is habit number three. Which is To Put things First.

    2. One specific section of the book that related to my life was on page 123. IT was about over coming peer pressure. Being in high school all students have to deal with that on a dailey bases. It is one of the hardest things to overcome in school. It has made an impact on my life, because over the course of the years, I see my classmates change for the better and worse. I had to overcome this myself. I made some dumb choices in life, but had to learn from them, and that's exactly what we all do as humans. Peer pressure can relate to drugs, sex, clothes you wear, etc. It all depends on what you as a person care about. and the right decision is to make the choice for yourself and not others.

    3. I will truly take steps to change the way I think on this habit and topic. One is "rising each time I fall". This means that everytime you fall, don't give up, and you can learn from them. One human characteristic that we all have is fear and nervousness. It makes us as humans be able to become fearless of one subject and fear another. "We should worry less about failing and more about the chances we miss when we don't even try". (Covey 121). To me this means that If we miss an opportunity of a life time, we will end up regreting that even more in the end. Another section that I really looked into was the one about finding your own comfort zone. Being with the people you know and a familar surroundings, is better. But if you try new things more often, you will be more comfortable all around you.

    4. A leader that demonstrated this is MR MINOTTI!!! He came to Alden, knowing none of the students, and just started teaching us. It must have been hard for him at first, because it was one of his first times teaching. And now that he is more comfortable with his surroundings, the students really enjoy his company. When he goes to a different school, he will now know what to expect more with high school students, and have a better "comfort zone". I'm sure he will be more comfortable teaching students the grasshopper and panda pounce!!

    I would give myself a 97%. :D

Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
Page 75 really had an impact on me because it showed me the best way to reach my goals. It told me to imagine myself in a year and how I would like myself to look and act. And to imagine the things I have achieved.
To implement this habit I will have to stop focusing on the here and now and start focusing what will happen to my goals if I do this. Will it help my end result or hinder it.
I think any leader who does sports demonstrates this habit because they have to know that they want to win their game/event if their gonna win.

    #1. Habit # 3 Put First Things First (5)
#2. On page 121, it talks about "Winning is rasing each time you fall", and to me that is very imporatant because if you do fall in life, you will never make things better if you don't do anything. It also explains how some other famous people fell, but got back up to resart their lives, like how Babe Ruth struck out 1,330 times, and how Beethoven's music teacher said he would be hopeless as a composer. There are challenges in life, but you have to overcome them in order to become something. Also, on page 128, it shows you step by step how to prioritize your life. This will help me learn how to plan better in my own life. (10)
#3. In my own life, I plan to never let anything stop me from becoming what I want to be or do, and that if I want to be successful, I have to overcome the many obstacles in life. I plan to also use page 128 to prioritize my life so I won't end up stressed and I will become successful. (25)
#4. A leader that demonstrates this habit is Abraham Lincoln. He had many obstacles to overcome in his life, such as failing in business at age 22, being defeated for state legislature at age 23, and coping with the death of his love at age 26. He also was defeated for the vice-presidency of the United States at age 47, and was defeated for the Senate at age 49,yet he still managed to become one of the greatest presidents of all time. There were many more obstacles and challenges Abraham Lincoln had to overcome besides these, and that is why he is a leader that demonstrates this habit very well because he was still extremely successful after all he had gone through to reach his goal. As I read Sean Covey's book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens", I have been analyzing the information and imagining how I can apply it to my own life. Habit number five states that you should seek first to understand, then to be understood. This means that communication skills are needed when talking to others about anything. It means that you should never be too quick to judge somebody while talking to them. When somebody comes to you for advice, they want you to listen to them first before you say anything. Sometimes, people do not often do this and they assume that they know the right solution for the person before even listening to what they think. This habit can be found on pages 163-180. An inspirational leader today who demonstrates this habit is Oprah. On her show, she listens to people and what they have to say before she gives them advice on how they can solve their problem. She is never to quick to judge people and she listens to everything they want to tell her. Because of this, many people look up to her as a great leader. I often demonstrate this habit, but sometimes I can be too quick to judge people. I know that I would want people to listen to me and what I have to say before people try to judge what the situation is. I am going to start taking steps to help myself fully exhibit this habit because it is necessary to be a leader, as well as a highly effective teen.

    1. Habit #6, Synergize.
    2. I liked pages 190-191. The three largest “roadblocks”, are ignorance, cliques, and prejudice. I like that part because I agree with it. Without those three things life would be easier on a lot of people. And more people would get along. Stereo typing is something that many people have to deal with this in schools.
    3. In school I will try and be nice to people that I am usually not nice to. I will try and not judge people right away based on looks or nationality. I will try and make people feel more welcome. Make them feel they belong.
    4. Martin Luther King is a leader that demonstrated this habit because he believed in equality. He wanted people to feel like they belong and they are all a like. He believed we are all the same.

    1. The habit that i am going to discuss is habit number 1 "Be Proactive" because I want change in my life. I don't want to keep telling myself that I want to do something and never presue it.

    2. On page 50 it talks about Reactive choice and Proactive choices. It talks about your best friend bad mouthing you in front of a goup of people. Some of the reactive choices are: to tell her off, go into a deep depression because you feel so bad about what she said, decide that she's two-faced lair and give her the silent treatment for two months, and spread vicious rumors about her. After all, she did it to you. SOme of the Proactive choices are: to forgive her, confront her and calmly share how you feel, ignore it and give her a second chance. Realize that she has weeknesses just like you and that occasionally you talk behind her back without really meaning any harm. I've been back stabbed by friends and have told them off and regret doing it becuase they were good people and i still wish that we were friends today. I should have been proactive and just let what they said go and forgive them, but now i am out of a friend and i regret it majorly.

    3. The change that i will bring in my life will be to forgive people when they say or do something to me. I won't go and tell them off and lose any more friends. It's not worth it in the end because having good friends is amazing. I also want to do thats that I will do instead of saying ill do it and never try. One of those things would be to learn how to play the flute. I always say that im going to learn but never take the time or effort into learning it. I also want to help out around my house more. I always just sit and watch other people do stuff and I no that i should get up and help, but i rarely do. I decided that I am going to help more.

    4. A leader that i believe protrays this Habit is Deb naybor. She isn't famous but to me she is a leader. She is an amazing person. She has a foundation called "Both Your Hands" and they help in kenya with collecting school cupplies, books, computer equipment, medical supplies, assistive devices, among other things and make regular shipments to counterparts in Kenya then they distribute them to partnering schools, clinics and orphanages in rural and urban slum areas of Kenya. Deb is a leader to me because she started this nonprofit organization by herself because she wanted to and new it was the right thing to do. She has helped so many people live better lives and i idolize her for that. She is a wonderful person to talk to and very friendly and helps many people survive in Kenya.

#4. A leader that deminstares this would have to be Taylor Swift because she does not let anyone change who she is and she stays true to her self. Also, she takes time to she if her life is where she wants it to be, and if it not then she changes it for the better. (20)

#2 I like that on page 186 and page 194 the pictures of the mouse. He tells you to look at one picture then the other. It shows that everyone is different because you might not all see the same thing. Also I like the poem on pg. 192. It really makes you think and i like it alot. It shows you what happens when you prejude.
#3 There is some things that I would change in my life. Like not prejudeing people before I know them. Even if people say they are weird or different. I should get to know them first.
#4 Martin Luther King. He demonstrates this habit well. He didn't care whether people were different. He wanted everyone to have the same rights even if you look different from others.

#1:As I have been starting to read "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" by Sean Covey i have realized that the 7 habits truly have a big effect on life, and mean a lot. The habit that really caught my eye was Habit 3: Put first things first.

#2:The pages 106-113 have influenced me the most on putting first things first. When you put first things first you put the most important things first. Like doing homework instead of watching tv. Doing your homework is the number one priority to be successful in school, and watching tv is just a hobby that you don't have to do often.

#3:In putting first things first in my life i will take more time and realize what really is important and think about if I put the less important thing first it will not get me anywhere. In order for this to happen I will have to come into a situation where theirs two important things and I have have to pick on which one is the most important to me, or in the situation I am.

#4:A person that demonstrates this habit is Oprah. Oprah is someone who puts something more valuable and important first in her life rather than something less important. For example she put trying to get herself to be a more successful person and not live in poverty in front of anything else. She wanted to live her life like most people have been and not get stuck with a horrible life. Now shes a millionaire and helps people with problems there going through since she once before lived a horrible life during her younger age.

    #1. Habit #1 Being Proactive

#2. Pages 48-54 have greatly impacted my life. They talk about how to be a proactive person, and what positive effects come from it. This section also gives other peoples' stories in becoming proactive, which gives the idea more reality. That being a proactive person is very possible.

#3.My attitude towards negative situations will change. This habit talks about not letting bad situations affect you. You have to take control of the situation and make it turn in favor of you. Also it tells people to take control of their futures, don't leave it in the hands of another person. After reading this I will try to think more positively about everything, and take matters into my own hands. I will not let one bad thing ruin my day, I can now just brush it off and make the best of everything situation.

#4. A leader who demonstrates this habit is Robert Pattinson. He was the leading role in Twilight, as Edward Cullens. This was no an easy task for him. In the begin he did not even want to try for the role because he did not think that he was good or "perfect" enough to be Edward in the movie. With some positive thinking and a proactive attitude he took the matter into his own hands. Robert auditioned for the role with much practice and in the end received his leading role he worked so hard for. He did not let anything get in the way of this dream and he stayed proactive through the process.

#2. On page 110, what shows an impact in my life, is "The Slacker". I'm probably the laziest person you'll ever meet. I love sleeping, that is what I do on weekends and I'm up all night. I also love to eat, and you'll usually catch me laying in bed eating egg salad, on my laptop. That's just pure laziness.

#3. Well, I've noticed living this way, has made me feel kind of guilty, and I don't really feel as responsible as I use too. So I'm going to start getting more exercise. I will start doing some chores around the house to take some responsibility.

#4. My Mom is defiantly not anything like me. She is not lazy what so ever. All you'll see her doing is moving. She's always cleaning, or making dinner, or playing with the dogs or something!
