ReplyDelete#1. Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind.
#2. Pages 74-75 have had an effect on me. The reason for that is because I tend to think about my future a lot and every little detail but, after reading these pages, I have come to realize I should just be worrying about where I want to end up in life. Page 75 had me imagine myself in a year and how I would like myself to be. I shouldn‘t be worrying about all the little things because once I figure out where I want to go in life everything else will fall into place.
#3. I need to let life run it’s course. I usually try to have everything planned out and I try to guess what is going to happen if I make a certain decision. I have to allow myself to live for today and not worry about what is going to happen ten years from now. I have to learn to let things go and not think that every mistake will mess up my future. I need to keep reminding myself about what I want in the future and hope that all my decisions will allow me to get closer to my dreams.
#4. Randy Pausch is an inspirational leader who exhibited this habit very well. When Randy found out he had only six months to live he thought about the future of his kids first. Randy wanted to help them live the best life they could even if he wasn’t there with them. He had to overcome his fears of dieing and allow himself to think of the future of his kids. Randy made a speech in which he told his kids everything that he would want to if he would live to be able to give them his advice.

#4. One leader which demonstrates having a "can-do attitude" is Hayden Panettiere. I think that she has this attitude because instead of having other people do the work for her or just standing by and watching others work for what she believes in, she gets involved. ex- Hayden and other surfers went out to sea to stop an annual dolphin slaughter in Japan.

ReplyDelete#1. Habit #1- Be Proactive.
#2. Pg. 63-65 Can-Do section had had an impact on my life. It taught me that if you take any action upon yourself and believe in yourself you are more likely to succeed instead of doing something because you have to.
#3. The part of my life I would need to change in order to be proactive is I need to go out and just do what I need to instead of waiting for others to do it for me. I need to become more determined and step outside my own comfort zone. I need to believe in myself and know that I can do what I put my mind to. I can't just wait around and expect things to work out, I need to go out and try to help to better myself.
#4. A leader that exhibits these qualities would be Mr. Cayea. He doesn't let anyone but himself control his life. He is always determined to succeed and doesn't allow other to determine his fate. He always believes in himself and his abilities and he helps others to believe in themselves by motivating them and letting them know that they can do it. For example, during softball we were all freaking out about having to play Cleve Hill so he just sat us all down and explained to us that its all in our heads and we just been to believe and put all out hard work and determination to work.

ReplyDelete#1. #4 Think Win-Win
#2. Pages 146-162
#3.This habit would make me change the decisions I make and how I make them. For example, you want to go to the mall with friends while your parents need the car to go run errands. Win-Lose would be you going out and you parents staying home or other way around. But on the other hand a Win-Win would be you parents getting their errands done while you still get to go out. Or you do the errands for them. It would help me think of others before I think about myself and also the positive and negative effects. First I would stop and think about the situation. Then I would think how we could both win and make a compromise.
#4. My mom because she always puts other people before herself and easily demonstrates this. If I want to go out with a friends but she needs to go out, she would take me to my friends on her way out. She always thinks about the situation and deals with it appropriately.

#3.My attitude towards negative situations will change. This habit talks about not letting bad situations affect you. You have to take control of the situation and make it turn in favor of you. Also it tells people to take control of their futures, don't leave it in the hands of another person. After reading this I will try to think more positively about everything, and take matters into my own hands. I will not let one bad thing ruin my day, I can now just brush it off and make the best of everything situation.
#4. A leader who demonstrates this habit is Robert Pattinson. He was the leading role in Twilight, as Edward Cullens. This was no an easy task for him. In the begin he did not even want to try for the role because he did not think that he was good or "perfect" enough to be Edward in the movie. With some positive thinking and a proactive attitude he took the matter into his own hands. Robert auditioned for the role with much practice and in the end received his leading role he worked so hard for. He did not let anything get in the way of this dream and he stayed proactive through the process.
